Build a soccer training plan around your position
A generic soccer training plan wastes sessions. Attackers need finishing patterns under fatigue; midfielders need scanning and first touch under pressure; defenders need body shape, clearances, and recovery runs. Start from position, then fold in personal weaknesses.
Shared skeleton for every position
- 3–5 train days with one primary theme each
- Session minutes fixed (e.g. 30 or 45) so you stop on time
- One form-check drill per week for the quality you care about
- Match day = light prep only
Attackers
Weight finishing (strong and weak), runs in behind timing (even as shadow runs), and hold-up first touch. Conditioning should include short explosive efforts, not only long aerobic blocks. Film finishing plant foot weekly.
Midfielders
First touch out of pressure, half-turn receiving, scanning habits, and progressive passing patterns. Add one decision/scanning session and one ball-striking day. Average form score on receiving drills is a better personal KPI than raw shot power.
Defenders
Body shape, 1v1 defending footwork, heading/clearance technique if you have space, and recovery sprint mechanics. Pair with light ball mastery so distribution is not an afterthought.
Goalkeepers
Handling, footwork, distribution, and decision reps. GK sessions should not be random outfield juggling. If gear is limited, prioritize set-position footwork and distribution to targets.
Real 90 builds the week from onboarding DNA — position, level, goals, weaknesses, gear, space, session minutes — then lets you swap drills or regenerate a day without breaking the week.
Where AI form check belongs in the plan
Do not form-check every drill. Pick the money skill for your position, record once, take the score and cues, update your player card, optionally share to a squad. Leaderboard numbers should come from real sessions, not manual vanity entry.
Youth soccer training plans
Shorter sessions, more variety, fewer max-sprint days stacked. Parents and players should prioritize sleep and enjoyment; volume is not a badge. Under-13 use of training apps should involve a guardian per platform terms.
